Founded in 1928 by Jack Hadley and Herbert Ottaway our company has a long history of removals in East Anglia. With a single van Jack and Herbert offered a domestic removals service around Norwich.
More than a decade later the company offered its growing fleet of box vans to the war effort transporting RAF pilots and their equipment from Norfolk to Lincolnshire.
In the 1970s the company was bought by Leo Palmer, who diversified into haulage but the company was later sold again and in 2004 a management buy out led by myself resulted in the company being relocated to purpose-built premises in the heart of Norfolk.
Still a family-owned and run company today Hadley & Ottaway has eleven vehicles and an expert team of 30 staff, including 20 drivers all employed and fully trained to ensure the removal is completed efficiently and safely.

At Hadley & Ottaway everyone cares about your move. Many of the removals and office staff have been with the company for years and really understand just how important it is for removal companies to make sure that everything goes smoothly with your relocation. Our experience means that we can make moving home or office as seamless as possible, relieving you of any stress or worry during the moving period.
Unlike many other removal companies we go that extra mile such as the storing of plants and pots in our bespoke plastic bins and allocating one of our senior staff to drive your car to your new home so you don’t have the stress of having to do so.
At Hadley & Ottaway we have a rigid green policy meaning we use recycled materials wherever possible and recycle as much of the packaging that we can’t reuse. Our ‘Green Policy’ which means we not only buy in materials that have been recycled but send a lot of our own used materials away for recycling.

Following the PM’s announcement on 4th January 2021, removal companies are being allowed to continue carrying out house moves providing that they have the required safety measures in place.
At Hadley & Ottaway we have had these in place since the first lockdown but would welcome existing and new customers to contact us so we can reassure them that we have and are going to great lengths to ensure the safety of them and our staff
