We are launching an appeal to help find family and friends of three servicemen killed in action during 1940.

Jack Ottaway, Archie Kerr, and Stanley Elliot all lost their lives when their plane tragically crashed in Northrepps airfield almost 75 years ago.

To mark the 75th anniversary of the crash, a memorial is being held in their honour at Northrepps airfield on Saturday 21st November at 11am.

We are appealing to find family members and friends of the families, and also relatives or friends of Stan Hird who was the only survivor of the crash.

There is a personal connection to the family for us, with Jack’s brother Herbert Ottaway being a founding member of the company in 1928 alongside his brother-in-law Jack Hadley.

The memorial has already received terrific support from the RAF Association, Salvation Army and local cadets, and will be open to the public, and we would like as many Ottaway’s and descendants to be in attendance as possible.

If you know of any Ottaway’s or relatives of Archie Kerr or Stanley Elliott we would love to hear from you.

For more information, please get in touch with us, either via email or telephone.
